Resilience Isn't Another Way to say 'Toughen Up', OK? #lifecoaching#success#motivation#personaldevelopment

You're not looking for perfection in your partner. Perfection is all about the ego. With soulmate love, you know that true love is what happens when disappointment sets in - and you're willing to deal maturely with these disappointments. (Karen Salmansohn)

Yes indeed. Perfectionism truly is a seductive form of self sabotage. Follow my next post for more on that.

As a life coach, I occasionally help by guiding individuals through the process of cultivating emotional resilience.

  1. resilience

    noun

    1. 1.
the capacity to withstand or to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.
"the remarkable resilience of so many institutions"
    2. 2.
the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity.
"nylon is excellent in wearability and resilience"

I boil it down to this idea: "Emotional Resilience is the ability to make promises to yourself and keep them."

This includes if one has experienced a shattered romantic dream.

Life coaching is about providing a secure and non-judgmental space for someone to express their feelings and untangle some complex emotions has assisted self-discovery and personal development. pay me a visit: https://connect.leeclarkcta.com/ if you like...

Emotional Resilience isn't another way to

say 'Toughen up'. It's about developing the personal resources to accommodate life's trial, and pick up the pieces with better confidence.

The ingredients are to be found anywhere really; active listening and empathetic understanding which empowers a clients to acknowledge and validate their emotions.

Sometimes an objective third party helps to put down the groundwork for self-awareness and the beginnings of the emotional resilience required to come to terms with life's 'slings and arrows'.

My work helps a coachee to reframe the narrative surrounding their romantic setbacks, providing some motivation to 'pick up the pieces'.

Interrogating negative thought patterns and encouraging a more constructive perspective, encourages someone to view their experience as an opportunity for personal growth rather than a permanent setback.

We get to identify important lessons, find strengths, and area explore areas for personal development that can arise from a disappointment, fostering a positive outlook.

This is not a brow-beating or 'Toughen Up!' approach. We evolve practical coping strategies to navigate the emotions that may accompany romantic disappointment.

Or, as Leonard Cohen has said: “Ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack, a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”

Whether it's mindfulness exercises, deep breathing techniques, or other stress-management technologies, I encourage my clients to develop coping mechanisms that not only alleviate immediate pain but also equip them with technologies they can apply to future challenges.
